STIPA measurements and evacuation alarm technical support
Speech intelligibility measurements using STIPA, fault analysis and commissioning support for type A evacuation alarm systems. EvacSafe records the results in an analysis or measurement report tailored to your question.
A recurring or complex fault requires further investigation.
You need support with commissioning or functional testing.
Speech intelligibility needs to be investigated or measured.
The evacuation alarm seems difficult to hear in a phone booth or enclosed room.
What will you receive?
An analysis or measurement report suited to the assignment.
Practical on-site support when agreed.
An overview of findings and recommended further investigation or actions.
Evacuation alarm sound level measurements and phone booths
Is the fire alarm difficult to hear in an enclosed office, phone booth or quiet workspace? EvacSafe helps define the measurement task and investigate evacuation alarm sound levels at agreed locations. We first agree on the system type, design requirements, measurement conditions and operation of the alarm. A sound level measurement examines loudness; a STIPA measurement examines the intelligibility of spoken messages. The required assessment depends on the room and the applicable design criteria.
Measuring speech intelligibility
An audible message is not always intelligible. STI or STIPA measurements assess speech transmission. Before measuring, we agree the assignment, relevant spaces, ambient noise and assessment framework. Results remain linked to the conditions in which they were measured.
Fault analysis and functional testing
For a complex system fault, we first organise messages, previous work and available installation data. During commissioning or functional testing, we agree which functions and signal paths will be examined. You receive traceable findings and recommendations for repairs or further investigation.
Preparing and documenting your STIPA measurement
We agree the spaces, measurement positions, signal path, system settings and representative operating conditions in advance. Share the programme of requirements, loudspeaker plans and previous measurement reports where available. The report links STI results to positions and conditions and identifies limitations and any next steps, making the measurements and basis of assessment clear.
What does a sound level or STIPA measurement cost?
The price depends on the measurement task, number of rooms and measurement positions, available documents, access times and required report. Send a floor plan, the number of phone booths or rooms and the design requirements if available. Please also state who can activate and reset the system. You will receive a proposal specifying the agreed work and deliverable.
